Jamal Ahmed is a pioneering entrepreneur and globally recognised privacy expert who has transformed the privacy industry through multiple innovative ventures. As CEO of Kazient Privacy Experts and founder of Privacy Pros Academy, he has protected the personal data of over one billion data subjects worldwide while revolutionising privacy education.
For Jamal, winning the Top 100 Influential People award was surprising. Reflecting upon it, he “felt deeply humbled.” “Influence isn’t something I’ve ever chased deliberately, so to have my work recognised in this way felt both unexpected and meaningful. It was a moment of quiet gratitude rather than celebration.”
Beyond the title itself, there was significant personal meaning in Jamal’s award win. “It felt like validation of the values I’ve built my work around: integrity, service and accessibility.” Furthermore, “as someone from a minority background, it also carried a sense of representation and possibility.”
From a business perspective, the award win has “accelerated visibility, international interest and speaking opportunities.” It has enabled conversations at “a higher strategic level” and “increased trust and credibility with organisations, institutions and partners who may not have known my work previously, particularly beyond the privacy sector.”
Rather than pushing him to “do more” in a louder or broader way, the award has refined Jamal’s direction. “It has sharpened my focus on impact over expansion,” he explains. He views the next goal as scaling “access to world-class education globally, particularly in regions where opportunity is limited, and shaping the future of privacy and AI governance as a leadership discipline.”
To Jamal, the Top 100’s uniqueness lies in its humanity. “It recognises journeys, values and contribution to society, not just commercial success or headlines.” That makes it “distinct and meaningful.”
For those who might be considering entering or nominating someone, Jamel would “absolutely” recommend doing so. “Recognition matters, not for ego, but for visibility and inspiration. If you’re considering nominating someone, I’d say do it with sincerity and tell the real story behind the success,” he says.
The importance in sharing someone’s story is because “stories create connection. They remind others that progress is rarely linear and that setbacks, resilience, and values matter just as much as achievements.”
The annual Top 100 awards are designed to shine a light on truly influential people who make a positive impact on society.
