Spanning education, philanthropy and adventure, Steve Hill MBE has dedicated his life to helping others. Upon learning of his Top 100 Influential People award, his first reaction was one of gratitude: “for the people I work alongside, the communities I serve and the opportunities I’ve been given over the years to make a positive difference in the world.”
Founder of the Team Hill Charitable Trust, Steve leads vital humanitarian work in Uganda, funding schools, medical care and clean water projects. The Top 100 Award has “significantly raised awareness of the work I do and the causes I care about. Importantly, it has helped shine a light on work that is often collective, not individual.” From a professional perspective, “the recognition has strengthened credibility and trust, leading to new partnerships.” Likewise, personally, “it has boosted confidence and reinforced my belief that staying true to your values while striving for excellence is the right path – even when progress feels slow.”
What makes the Top 100 Influential People Awards stand out “is the emphasis on real impact and authentic stories.” It celebrates “substance over status and recognises influence that is earned through action, not just profile.”
“Without hesitation,” Steve would encourage other top achievers to apply, believing that “sharing your journey can inspire others, open new doors and remind you of how far you’ve come – which is incredibly powerful.”
The sharing of stories through the Top 100 is important as “stories create connection. Reflection allows us to learn from our experiences and sharing those lessons helps others realise that success is rarely linear or easy. When people are honest about their journey, it normalises growth, resilience and perseverance.”
If reading Steve’s story, he hopes that someone could learn “influence isn’t reserved for a select few. It’s built over time through commitment, courage and care for others. If my story shows that you can lead with purpose, stay true to your values and still make a meaningful impact – then that would be the greatest reward of all.”
