Duncan is a New York Times bestselling poet, ethical entrepreneur and passionate philanthropist, who uses his global reach and influence to help those who need it most.
Duncan rose to prominence in 2010 with his MTV show, The Buried Life, which involved him, his brother and two friends completing a 100- item bucket list, while also inspiring young people to find their purpose in life. For every item Duncan and his friends ticked off, they also helped a stranger to achieve their dreams.
While filming for the show, Duncan made global headlines and was recognised by the Guinness World Records for recording the largest-ever roulette spin in Las Vegas history. All benefits were donated to the World Food Programme.
Duncan co-authored What do you want to do before you die?, which was named as The New York Times’s No. 1 best seller in 2012.
For his services to poetry, which he writes under the alias Atticus, The Times dubbed Duncan “Byron for the Instagram generation”. He has authored four internationally best-selling collections, all the while encouraging young people to promote art without searching for fame.
Duncan is also a passionate advocate for mental health awareness, which he has addressed in his television work, books and poetry, and, as Atticus, has been a UNICEF ambassador for a number of years.
