Lily Elsner is a disrupter who is revolutionising and destigmatising men’s fertility.
She set up Jack Fertility to normalise testing and stop infertility being perceived as a ‘woman’s issue’. Research has shown that sperm counts have more than halved globally over the past 50 years and birth rates are falling. Male fertility issues are expected to continue to rise.
Lily always had a passion for changing and improving the health industry by making innovative and consumer-centric products.
She founded Jack Fertility with business partner Nick Shipley in 2019. Sperm collection and testing has not changed in decades and was seen as awkward and emasculating. She knew there had to be a better way.
The COVID pandemic showed how widely accepted home testing kits were and in 2023, Jack Fertility launched the first UK postal male fertility test, providing a convenient way to collect a sperm sample at home and send it to a lab for testing, avoiding the embarrassment of face-to-face appointments. The innovative offering is set to change how men access fertility testing. It has just secured significant investment from Oxford Seed Fund.
Lily is fulfilling her ambition of empowering people to take control of their fertility journeys by making testing as easy as possible.
