Philip Belamant is the CEO and co-founder of Zilch, a London-based BNPL (buy now pay later) payment platform founded in 2018 and publicly launched in September 2020.
In 2021, Philip won the UK’s Great British Entrepreneur of the Year Award and at the same awards Zilch was recognised with Scale Up Company of the year.
Zilch is Europe’s fastest-ever company to go from launch to unicorn status, which it achieved in 14 months.
In April 2021 Zilch announced a valuation of over $500 million. In October 2021 Zilch reported an overall valuation of $2 billion, making it the fastest company in Europe to reach double unicorn status. As of 2023, Zilch has over 3 million users.
Zilch is on a mission to revolutionise the global payments industry, providing people with the most empowering and value enhancing way to pay for anything while managing their cash flow responsibly.
Philip graduated Cum Laude from RAU University in South Africa, where he completed both BscIT and BscIT Honors degrees. Before starting Zilch, he founded fintech companies in developing economies utilising technology that always set out to change the lives of people, including mobile payment services in multiple countries and building a leading fintech company in Africa.
