Richard Vincent is an international entrepreneur and a pioneer in virtual reality immersive medical training. His aim is to create positive market disruption through technological application.

With around 30 years of experience in medical technology, in 2015 he co-founded healthcare technology business FundamentalVR, based in the UK and USA, that offers virtual reality medical training with the sense of touch to advance surgical competences and improve patient outcomes.

In his role as CEO, Vincent’s set out to create the world’s first, haptically enabled, low cost ‘flight simulator for surgeons’. Haptic technology gives the user the experience of touch through the feeling of force, motions and vibrations.

FundamentalVR has already developed its own proprietary HapticVR™ system, which is now being used globally across many medical specialties. It is being successfully used to build high-fidelity simulations to improve patient care and standardise training via safe, repeatable and metric lead methods.

FundamentalVR allows medical teams, sometimes up to dozens of people, to remotely collaborate, rehearse and go through the steps of a surgical process in the virtual world, helping them to accelerate their skills, competences and accuracy; and perfect their proficiencies and gain confidence.

Under Richard’s leadership, FundamentalVR is experiencing exponential growth in business, partnerships and medical specialities.
