Dr Simon Thomas is a founder and the CEO of Paragraf, a pioneering graphene electronic device company.

Graphene has been dubbed the 21st century’s ‘super-material’. It is the most conductive material in existence, both strong and flexible and capable of resisting high electrical forces. However, until now, manufacturers had not been able to commercially exploit it successfully.

Simon’s research and inventions have enabled the world’s first graphene electronics products to be made at scale. Paragraf’s products are radically transforming application spaces and opening the door to the next era of electronics.

Simon spent many years as a semiconductor specialist developing transformational products for the semiconductor device industry. He is passionate about developing technologies that can solve today’s challenges and benefit global society. He believes that new materials hold the key to newl products that will deliver a brighter more sustainable future.

Simon became an SME Leader in 2018 and in 2021 he was elected as Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering. The Academy’s Fellowship represents the nation’s best engineering researchers, innovators, entrepreneurs, business and industry leaders. He was recognised in the field of engineering and technology for his exceptional contributions to his sector, as an innovation leader and inspiring role model.
