Vincent Fitzmaurice is the founder and CEO of London-based Lennox Children’s Cancer Fund, a charity that helps children who have been diagnosed with cancer by providing financial, emotional and practical support to the whole family.

Every year 1,800 children in the UK are diagnosed with cancer and the charity aims to make a positive difference to the whole family from diagnosis to post treatment support.

Following a career in the charity sector, Vincent set up Lennox Children’s Cancer Fund in 1992, and has been running it for more than 31 years.

Vincent raises funds for the charity in various ways including amateur productions, fitness challenges, community fundraising and in-house events. Originally, the charity supported children’s oncology wards by providing equipment, gifts and children’s parties but over the years it has expanded its range of services.

Almost half of parents of children and young people undergoing cancer treatment experience a loss of earnings. This led Lennox Children’s Cancer Fund to provide respite breaks and care grants. It is one of the few charities that offers welfare and benefit advice. Supporters of the charity work closely with hospitals all over the UK, to build relationships with nurses, patients and families.

Vincent attended Eastleigh Comprehensive School, in Canning Town, London.
