Ade Hassan MBE is a trailblazing entrepreneur and the founder of Nubian Skin, a groundbreaking hosiery and lingerie brand. Inspired by her own experience of struggling to find nude-toned underwear suitable for women of colour, Ade created Nubian Skin to address this gap in the market. Ade’s innovative brand has redefined “nude,” offering an inclusive and impactful product. Her game-changing creation has earned accolades such as nomination for Hosiery Brand of the Year at the UK Lingerie Awards and won UK’s Favourite British Designer of the Year. Ade herself was honoured as Fashion Entrepreneur of the Year at the Great British Entrepreneur Awards. Ade nurtured her entrepreneurial ambitions from an early age. She studied at Duke University and later earned a Master’s degree in economic development from SOAS in London. Despite a stint in banking and research, it was her passion for inclusivity in fashion that acted as a catalyst for switching to entrepreneurship. Nubian Skin’s success includes many prominent features in major fashion publications as well as supplying undergarments for major productions in the West End and Broadway alongside Hollywood. The brand was also selected for the Beyoncé Formation Tour. In recognition of her contributions to the industry, Ade has been appointed an MBE.
