Amanda Finch is a mover and shaker who has had an enormous impact on the information and cybersecurity world as well as on diversity and inclusion in the profession. She is a beacon of light for older women in proving you can change things for the better at any stage of your career.
As the CEO of CIISec (the Chartered Institute of Information Security), Amanda finds herself in a male-dominated environment but she has been single-minded in her efforts to promote women and minorities in the field.
She was working part-time and semi-retired when she was appointed as CEO of CIISec. Her formidable reserves of energy, imagination and ambition for the Institute resulted in it gaining Royal Charter status in 2018 and it is now the go-to body for courses preparing professionals to raise their levels of cyber security competency.
Amanda is a fellow of the British Computer Society (BCS), holds a master’s degree in information security and was awarded European Chief Information Security Officer of the year by Secure Computing magazine in 2007. She has been instrumental in gaining recognition for the information security management to be recognised as a profession and is frequently listed as one of the most influential women within the industry.
