Anna Somaiya has made exceptional and selfless contributions to diversity, social enterprise and inclusive leadership in the technology sector. Her influence comes from her unwavering commitment to reshaping the tech landscape to be more inclusive, accessible and representative of society at large. It is her life’s work.
As part of KPMG’s Solutions and Digital leadership team from 2017 to 2021, she founded and led IT’s Her Future, KPMG’s signature gender diversity programme in technology. Under her leadership, the programme delivered measurable results: increasing female representation in tech from 26% to 46%, reducing attrition by 10% and helping 41% of mentees gain promotions. Her work was recognised with multiple awards and became a global blueprint for DEI action within the firm and beyond.
In 2023, she co-founded DiversITy-Talent, a powerful social enterprise empowering underrepresented and underserved young people to pursue careers in business and technology. It has grown from a two-person, self-funded initiative into a nationally scaling movement. It began with a pilot involving 22 children across two schools. By 2023-2024, the programme had expanded to reach 55 students, and in 2024-2025 it engaged over 500 participants across primary and secondary schools, colleges, youth groups, marginalised communities and apprenticeship pathways.
Anna has been honoured with the iChange Model United Nations Conference ‘Iconic Female Leadership Award’.
