Charlie Langhorne is passionate about how public art trails can bring together communities, businesses and artists through the power of creativity. Charlie founded Wild in Art in 2008. Since then, he has created unique partnerships with over 130 organisations – from charities, local councils and business improvement districts, to visitor attractions and brand owners – which have enabled the creation of innovative, mass participation art trails in over 120 towns and cities worldwide. His mission to bring art out of the gallery and make it accessible to all has helped millions of people to experience art in non-traditional settings. It’s provided a platform for amateur and professional artists to showcase their work through paid commissions with over £4.2 million re-invested into creative communities. Learning and community programmes have enabled over 1.2 million children, young people and hard to reach communities to participate. Furthermore, it’s enabled significant charitable fundraising with over £25.2 million raised for charity partners to date. A former army officer and sports executive, Charlie is an ambassador for the ICPCN (International Children’s Palliative Care Network), and a UK-based member of the British New Zealand Business Association.
