Chris Wigley is a specialist in artificial intelligence who has worked in the private and public sectors.
He is a co-founder and CEO of Aneira Health – a health service for women that launches in 2024.
He was CEO of Genomics England, from October 2019 to November 2023, where he led the government-owned company in advancing genomic medicine to treat and prevent rare diseases and cancer.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Chris was the senior responsible officer (part time) for the COVID data response at NHSX for three months from April to June 2020.
Between 2015 and 2000, Chris was a member of the senior advisory board of Entrepreneur First, a pre-seed investment programme for technical start up enterprises.
Chris spend 10 years from 2009 as a partner of McKinsey & Company, a management consulting business. One of the positions he held was chief operating officer of Quantum Black, the artificial intelligence wing of McKinsey. He is the author of Five habits for executives to become more digital.
In the early part of his career (2004 to 2009), Chris was a diplomat with the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office.
Chris gained a MA degree in history from University of Edinburgh.
