Dan Archer is an entrepreneur in the social care sector and managing director of in-home care franchise Visiting Angels.
After launching the business in 2018, Visiting Angels has expanded to become one of the world’s largest home care providers with franchised operations in five countries and 800 franchised offices. In the UK, Visiting Angels has a network of 58 franchisees.
Dan decided to open a social care business after a family member received an extremely poor quality of care. Visiting Angels is a carer-centric business, that offers better pay and benefits, training, career progression and mental health support for carers.
He is a keen advocate for self-employment through franchisor businesses, believing franchising is a powerful force that can lead to the reform of social care in the UK.
Prior to founding Visiting Angels, he was a franchise consultant with Rev PR between 2015 and 2017. He spent almost two years with Promedica24, a UK-based live-in care franchise as UK managing director and franchise director.
He has held several other franchise director roles, and he was a non-executive director of the British Franchise Association between 2008 and 2014.
Dan obtained a degree in international business at Sheffield Hallam University.
