When he took on the role in 2016, the company was struggling to find its footing. Today, it is a thriving €250 million business and a recognised leader in sustainable data centre operations. Under his guidance, energy efficiency rose to 99%, water use dropped by 90%, and the company became the first in Ireland to run entirely on locally sourced renewable energy.
His influence extends well beyond his own organisation. He developed a practical framework to help other operators cut carbon and water use and he has worked closely with emerging innovators such as RE24 and OctaiPipe to trial new renewable and AI-driven technologies. He also mentors young professionals and helps build links between UK and Irish universities to support the next generation of sustainability leaders.
