Katie Neeves is a transgender women and an influential LGBT+ role model and a trans ambassador who inspires others to be themselves.
After coming out in October 2017 at the age of 48, she launched a new venture, Cool2BTrans (https://cool2btrans.co.uk) to educate the public about transgender people and to support the trans community.
Her company provides trans awareness training to businesses and Katie does media appearances, blogs, vlogs and public speaking about trans issues. She also mentors and supports trans people who may be struggling with their gender identity.
For her work as a transgender champion, she won the title of British Diversity Hero of the Year 2023.
Katie was assigned male at birth and called Martin. As she grew older, her gender dysphoria got stronger.
By the time she was 48, she felt increasing uncomfortable about her gender so much that she sought medical help and was officially diagnosed with gender dysphoria in March 2018. After treatment, she changed her first name to Katie and started living full-time as female in September 2018.
In her earlier career, Katie was a press photographer and her photographs were regularly used in national magazines and newspapers.
