Kevin Osbon’s remarkable career has cemented him as a pioneer in the construction industry and a champion of social-value-orientated approaches and sustainability. Founding Focus Consultants in 1994, he grew the company into a leading multi-disciplinary practice with a projected £8 million fee turnover this year and a workforce of 80. Under his stewardship, Focus has delivered over £4.75 billion in cultural projects, secured over £1 billion in grant funding for communities and supported 18,000 jobs. His placemaking influence is evident in transformative projects such as Leicester’s Cultural Quarter, which revitalised a derelict area into a thriving hub, and the £20 million Bristol Aerospace Centre, preserving heritage with innovation. His company’s latest big project is the Bath Fashion Museum project in the Milsom Quarter. When it comes to philanthropy, since its inception Focus has now realised social-value contributions of more than £1/2m through charitable activities and fundraising thanks to the efforts of Focus staff, something Kevin is very proud of. He has personally raised over £1 million for charities through challenges like climbing Kilimanjaro (5,895m), Everest Base Camp (5,364m) and Mera Peak (6,500m). In June 2025 he walked 900km of the Camino Way Frances in France and Spain for the Alzheimer’s Society – the equivalent of 1.2 million steps in 35 days! Kevin is also a thought-leader in embedding social value within construction, aligning industry practices with the UN Sustainable Development Goals and co-authoring award-winning research on social value, placemaking and sustainability. Kevin was awarded the MBE in the 2026 New Years Honours List for services to the Economy and to Regeneration in the East Midlands.
