Laks Mann MBE is an award-winning Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) champion, dynamic creative strategist and accomplished public speaker whose work spans the corporate, charitable and public sectors. With over 25 years of experience, Laks is widely recognised for his groundbreaking contributions to LGBTQ+ advocacy and intersectional inclusivity. He has given particular focus to increasing the visibility of the South Asian queer community in the UK and is a trustee and LGBTQ+ lead for South Asian Heritage Month (SAHM). SAHM celebrates the rich history, identity and influence of British South Asians, emphasising their integral role in shaping modern Britain. Laks is also the founder of Gaysians UK, a trailblazing initiative advancing inclusion and representation for South Asian LGBTQ+ individuals. Appointed by the Mayor of London, Laks serves as an Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion Advisor to City Hall with a focus on race, LGBTQ+, faith, class and youth. Lak’s numerous awards for this continued dedication include winning the LGBT+ Positive Role Model Award at the ITV National Diversity Awards 2020, being listed among the UK’s Top 30 BAME Leaders and being a shortlisted finalist for The Rainbow Honours 2022. In 2024, he was awarded an MBE for services to charity, integration and to LGBTQ+ communities.
