With 30 years of experience as an expert in national defence in the UK, Peter Cooper is currently managing partner and global head of partnerships in the London office of C5 Capital. The venture capital firm, headquartered in Washington, USA invests in cybersecurity, space and advanced nuclear energy.
In his role, Peter is responsible for business development in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and internationally, building and maintaining partnerships for C5 portfolio companies in both the public and private sectors.
As a leading expert in cybersecurity and aerospace defence, Peter is renowned as an innovator in a range of cutting-edge technologies used in space exploration, advanced nuclear technology and cybersecurity. His wide range of knowledge covers multiple business disciplines including commercial, government, military, regulatory and white hat communities.
Prior to C5 Capital, Peter was deputy director of cyber defence in the UK’s Cabinet Office, developing government cyber security policy and strategy. During his career, he has also advised numerous aerospace companies on cybersecurity policy and strategy.
In the earlier part of his career, Peter spent 24 years in the UK’s Royal Air Force, where he was a jet pilot and instructor on Tornado GR4 aircraft and evolved his focus on cyberspace operations.
