As the founder of the Smile Dental Care Group, he has created a successful and ethically driven network of practices which prioritise staff wellbeing and clinical autonomy alongside a commitment to the NHS and its customers. He has overcome massive political challenges to deal with the contract problems faced by the Government and its provision of dental services. This has fundamentally transformed the patient experience within UK dentistry, while his leadership has been instrumental in delivering services to those who previously struggled to gain access, including those in ‘dental deserts’. Pip founded his business in 1993, and it has grown from a single operation into one of the largest dentist-owned networks in the UK, comprising 43 practices across England and Scotland. From Helston to Aberdeen, his practices are strategically located in prominent high-street areas, offering modern, accessible, and patient-friendly dental services. A pioneer in integrating cutting-edge technology into dental workflows, Pip has championed digital advancements such as 3D printing for same-day restorations, significantly improving patient outcomes and treatment efficiency.
