Dr Prash Ladva is a 27-year-old Doctor who is making an outstanding impact on the NHS and on young doctors who have come into the profession through less traditional routes.
In 2019, he founded LinkMedics, an organisation which supports and recruits British citizens who have completed their medical training overseas, and prepares them to work in the NHS, thereby providing them with employment and filling many of the junior doctor vacancies which the NHS is struggling to fill; ensuring the NHS can continue to deliver high-quality patient care.
As the doctors are British Citizens, they are not being encouraged to leave less developed countries where their skills are equally needed.
This was Prash’s story. Unable to secure a place at UK medical school after failing his A-levels, Prash left the UK aged 18, learnt a new language and studied medicine in Bulgaria. He’s now been appointed an Associate Non-executive Director at Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust, and Clinical Fellow to the NHS National Medical Director.
Prash is a school governor, and mentors young migrants who aspire to work in the NHS, providing equality of opportunity and increasing social mobility. He won Young Entrepreneur of the Year 2023.
