Priya Lakhani is helping some of the most underprivileged children in the world through her AI education platform and her charitable foundation. As Founder and CEO of CENTURY Tech, she is helping the 1.8 million underperforming children in UK schools through the power of AI. CENTURY TECH uses AI to learn how each student learns, giving teachers insight into their progress, achievement, strengths and areas for improvement. She was selected by the World Economic Forum as a Tech Pioneer for her work at CENTURY. She also co-founded the Institute for Ethical AI for the education sector. Priya served on the UK government’s AI Council; she was Non-Executive Board Member to the UK Government Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport; she has been a member of the Sectary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills’ Entrepreneurs’ Forum. She was named one of the Most Influential Women in UK Tech 2023 by ComputerWeekly.com. She was awarded The Mayor of London Fund’s Special Recognition Award in 2016 and made an OBE in 2014. In 2009, she was awarded Business Entrepreneur of the Year and appeared on Management Today’s ‘35 Women Under 35’. In 2008, Priya launched Indian food brand Masala Masala, and simultaneously founded the charity iamSOCO (i am socially conscious). Using the ONE=ONE model, she provided millions of meals and thousands of vaccinations to the underprivileged in India and Africa.
