Richard Shardlow

A portfolio CFO and Founder for scale-up businesses and SMEs across verticals including energy and tech, Richard Shardlow’s presence spans the clean energy technology and investment communities, where he founded a battery storage portfolio which is developing foreign investment into a British energy company. Richard has an in-depth knowledge of the energy transition, infrastructure and tech spaces, in which he has completed multiple equity and debt fundraises for businesses he has founded and clients he has supported. This includes the exit from a British battery storage business he founded, which attracted more than £1bn of funding from a foreign sovereign wealth fund directly into new UK battery storage infrastructure. When CFO of a British venture capital technology fund, Richard rescued a promising British tech scaleup company from aggressive administrative action by a foreign supplier, then stabilised and grew the business to a successful exit within 18 months. He is the founder of TBC Partners, which incubates, helps raise funds for and promotes a select portfolio of high-growth potential British businesses operating in energy transition, food security and decarbonisation, waste / recycling and technology. Richard is also an angel investor in UK technology businesses.
