Shaun Fenton is a transformational leader whose impact on education spans academic excellence, innovation, inclusion and student wellbeing. Under his leadership, Reigate Grammar School (RGS) rose from 26th to 14th in national league tables and was named The Sunday Times School of the Year in 2025. Yet Shaun’s influence goes far beyond results. Shaun has pioneered AI integration in education, launched global school partnerships and reimagined staff development through coaching, wellbeing initiatives and leadership mentoring. He helps today’s children be international citizens in a Global Village. He helps today’s school leaders value being well educated not just well qualified. He influences policy makers to look to the future and avoid the temptation to simply value what we can measure. He serves as a former HMC Chair, a Fellow of the Chartered College of Teachers and a trustee of multiple education charities. A passionate advocate for social mobility, he has doubled the RGS Bursary Programme, supporting nearly 200 children, including humanitarian and NHS bursaries. He has embedded a joyful, values driven ethos where handwritten letters, birthday parties and personal care define the student experience. Recognised with an OBE for Services to Education, Shaun leads with heart and vision. His belief that “knowing you matter, really matters” has redefined what great schools can be – places where every child thrives, belongs and is prepared not just for exams, but for life.
