Simon Asplen-Taylor is a data and Artificial Intelligence pioneer. He was the first known Chief Data Officer in the UK, has authored a book – Data and Analytics Strategy for Business – which is an Amazon No.1 bestseller, and has served in the most senior roles in his field for businesses ranging from BUPA insurance to leisure company Rank. His influence includes: leading the largest data and analytics transformation in Europe for Lloyds Bank, generating £1Bn of incremental revenue p.a.; leading the data element of a major transformation at Tesco following the biggest loss in UK corporate history; and writing the strategy for the data-led transformation of the specialist insurance market Lloyd’s of London’s BluePrint2. This is creating a more efficient market and reducing market costs by £800m. As founder of DataTick, he advises boards on how to generate significant business value from data and analytics, including AI and machine learning. He is a Fellow of both the British Computer Society and the Royal Statistical Society and has been a finalist in the Great British Entrepreneur Awards; recognised by CEO Monthly magazine in its Most Influential CEO Awards; and nominated for the Lloyds Bank Business Awards.
