Subaskaran is one of Britain’s foremost philanthropists who supports charities and community organisations across the UK and internationally.

In total his donations to numerous charities and community projects over the years come to tens of millions of pounds.

His charitable and community activities include building a village in his native Sri Lanka, education projects, promoting entrepreneurship and a number of initiatives to engage young people in sport.

He is also a major supporter of the British Asian Trust, donating well over £1 million to the charity.

During COVID, Subaskaran was personally thanked by the then Education Secretary after he helped millions of families during the lockdowns by providing free additional data on their phones and devices to support children learning online at home. He has also given free SIM cards to refugees arriving in the UK from Afghanistan and Ukraine.

Subaskaran helped establish the Lycamobile British Ethnic Diversity Sports Awards (BEDSAs) and he set up the Lycamobile Cup, a youth football tournament that engages thousands of young people from disadvantaged communities.

Much of Subaskaran’s philanthropy is channelled through Lyca’s Gnanam Foundation which supports charity and community projects in many countries.
